I hope to have the energy to log my progress here on a regular basis. I will admit to have consumed a few too many pies (lol) in the last few months and my weight has crept up to 94 kilos. So the fightback has commenced. Last week was serious cardio-training time and lost a little weight (just over a kilo) so good start. My goal is to lose 10 kilos in total with about ten weeks so will let you know. As I state repeatedly, goal setting is important to prevent plateauing in ones training.

Not a bother to ya Declan. I've seen you do it many times before. Do blog about your progress because it is very interesting, especially for those looking to emulate.

Well I have been experimenting with training combinations. For example, last week I worked cardio during the day and started doing press-ups (which I have trouble with coz Karate wrecked my elbows) on the gym ball which changes the angle a little and causes me to work against instability. At first I gained weight as I improved muscle tone but now have started to lose weight. Hoping to break 90 kilos by the weekend.

Decided to switch track this week as I bloody killed my self with rounds on Saturday (96 in total ) I lost count lol. Anyway have started lifting weights for the first time in years and went better than I thought i.e. I'm not too sore. Will build the engine for a while and switch back to weight loss before the summer. Always trying to improve is the key to keeping a buzz about your training. Declan

96 rounds is a hell of a lot. You didn't tell everyone why you did that many. Declan is trying to keep it secret that it was his birthady and that ever year to celebrate he does a very hard training session. Well done and Happy Birthday again Declan.

Thanks for the support today. All the boxing today took care of my cardio but guys you've gotta work your abs was only tapping those body shots and some looked like they were gonna upchuck their breakfast lol. Seriously though some good stuff at the team today good to see so many down Easter weekend. Weight training started well have already begun to increase my weights but watching out for my knees and back is holding me back. Better safe than sorry. Also recommenced pliometrics training this week using lunges, box knees, squat jumps etc to increase explosive power. It burned lol and just befoer all that boxing I was slow as hell. Will keep posting Deco

Good to see a good few down training bank holiday Monday. I started week two of my weights buzz last night and am stiff now as did serious exercise bike session this morning and again at lunchtime. I seriously miss jogging which I usually get into at this time of year but all good advice points me away from it to prevent flaring up my knee and back injuries again. Fingers crossed I am injury free right now and intend to keep it that way. Thanks for all the sparring on Saturday guys.

Coming to the end of week two of weight training lifts are going up not spectacularly but steadily. I incorporated a pliometrics legs circuit and really felt it this week and am working on more. My weight has stabilised at 89 kilos which considering I haven't done as much cardio as usual is not bad and I know my legs and arms have goten a bit bigger so the weight must be changing composition (I'll keep telling myself that lol) Keep up the training guys Deco
