The very best wishes to Eddie Lawlor and all the Fighting Fitness Week 2015 crew. This is Eddie's first year taking the FFW by himself and I know he's very excited about it. I want to see pictures, video and some write ups about the training so that I don't feel I'm missing out Keep us in the loop and let us know how you are all getting on

Day one of the Fighting Fitness Week is done and dusted and I feel awesome! I might be singing a different tune at the end of the week but I’m ready for it. Today we jumped right into it- literally with 100 jumping jacks and a 2.4K warm up run. Today was all about boxing and I particularly loved the technique drills- spinning backfist combos are the best! We were able to put the technique into action afterwards during the circuit training. As we all know by now the MAI instructors don’t believe in doing things just once (hehe), so in the middle of the second circuit it felt like my arms were going to give out. BUT thanks to Eddie shouting encouragement over The Prodigy tunes blaring on the speakers, I got through it. Eddie and The Prodigy- a deadly combo for motivation We ended the session with five rounds of no contact sparring and abs. I have to say this was an excellent first day and I can’t wait for tomorrow!

Day one done today. Have to start with a confession I had pizza last night and a big breakfast at the airport this morning so not an ideal preparation. This is always one of the best weeks in the year and was strange as always done them with Rob so he was sorely missed today but Eddie did a great job in keeping us motivated and pushing through. It always good to catch up with people you might not see from one course to the next and also to get to meet new students. The jumping jacks straight away were an indication of things to come and luckily we got the run over before the weather got too bad. Tough but great session arms a bit sore now typing but I believe they will get a rest tomorrow which only means one thing somewhere else is going to suffer. Thanks for the great start Eddie.

Great write up Jess and Stephen! Thanks very much, well that's day one of FFW done and I loved every minute of it! Was a tough session but was totally enjoyable. As they said, plenty of boxing but I loved it! Roll on kicks tomorrow. If you're sticking to the diet people, make sure you get that last meal in before 6pm muhahahah! p.s. Music is only going to get better Jess!!

Definitely woke up sore this morning and with the heavens opening up just before we were to start today I didn't exactly go skipping around to the dojo. By some miracle Eddie seems has control over the weather and it broke nicely for the run which followed 100 squats as you do. Today was all about the kicks so 10 rounds of kicking combos were followed by the nightmare that is plates basically pushing the weights up and down the floor. The leg circuit was way harder than the one yesterday. Day two tough again tiredness and hunger setting in don't know how i'm going to cycle home but get tomorrow out of the way and we are over half way.

Totally agree Stephen! Today was most definitely tough. I woke up so much more sore than I was anticipating. My shoulders ached from all of the boxing rounds yesterday. I'm a massive fan of all things kicking, but after today- man, even walking back into town for a bit of food shopping my legs were screaming. I think I was a bit over confidant in thinking ok I got this- my legs are super strong. The weight training was actually killer. By the third set I wasn't able to really 'run' with the plates, had to settle for a walking push pace. I know this will totally be worth it in the end, but there's a part of me that's dreading how sore I'm going to wake up tomorrow. Well done Eddie, thanks for the great torture sesh

Loving the reports people! Yep you guys got that right, it was a tough session yesterday but it is only a week of it and we are now into day three, sure we be grand! Ha, best of luck to everyone today as I predict it's going to be another tough one, we shall find out from Ste and Jess later on boom!

The short answer Eddie is yes today was much harder. Having done a few of these I was expecting the 3rd day slump and it duly arrived. Today was one of those sessions to just get through. 100 press ups to get started and then we doubled up on the run. Elbows and knees today with some nice combos on the bag before the circuits. Only made it through due to Eddie's eclectic music mix where they came out of I don't know.

Haha the music was awesome today. We rocked out to some good 80's tunes while elbowing and kneeing the bajesus out of the bags. This is my third FFW and I think every year it's the same- Wednesdays are the hardest session to get through. The double up on the run was was slightly challenging- it's funny how different running endurance and kickboxing endurance can be. I'm doing some light yoga tonight to stretch out and get ready for tomorrow. Can't wait!

The doubling up of the run is tough but somehow managed to knock over half a minute today despite feeling like I was running backwards. You know your tired when doing 10 kickboxing rounds on the bag you don't know left from right punches from kicks and as Jessica says you just knock the bajesus out of the bags. After this week I nominate plates as the worst drill please don't make us do them tomorrow. So un dia mas nearly there

It's the final day of the course and it sounds like it's been a really tough one. I've loved the reports. Well done to everyone. Hopefully you'll catch up with yourselves this weekend and I'd be very interested to hear how you feel this coming week. After the initial stiffness goes away, most people feel absolutely great during the week that follows the course. If you manage to continue that momentum then you'll be flying through the summer and feeling great. Well done again

It's doneeeee! Today was tough, tough, tough. I was as Rosa said, very cranky today. Working late last night and essentially climbing stairs for 8 hrs did not put me in the best gung ho mood for our last FFW training day. BUT Eddie got some ooomph out of me after the 5K (and after he put The Prodigy back on haha). Everyone did an awesome job and I loved the buzz all week. Going to keep with the momentum and get stuck in tomorrow afternoon too. Thanks so much Eddie!

Extremely tough finish today and yes I did have a bit of sympathy for all them but that didn't stop them put everything into the last day. They all wanted to get the two hours over and done with I think! Ha, thanks to Jess and Stephen for the reports and I hope I hear from the rest of them on how they got on too. Certs were handed out today and the photo is below, well done again guys!!
