Having survived sparring week (just lol), I have decided to switch track on my training again (a motivation thing). I am happy to say that apart from the lack of skin on my feet I am currently injury free. I decided to start doing some track and field style pliometrics. I started quite easily as is wise and awoke surprisingly unsore this morning so will do it again tomorrow. Having done some myself I tried it in 7pm group and boy did we sweat (last night was possibly the most humid I have felt in Ireland) Will continue to post as I go along.

Last night was my second pre-class plyometrics session and it burned. I had been moving furniture and painting for the previous two days so my legs were already on fire but still went for it. Essentially my goals from this routine is to take advantage of the half hour free time I have before teaching the kids on Mon, Wed and Fri. Up to now I was doing more cardio or padwork or sparring but now feel I need to increase explosive power and A-B reaction times (old age setting in ). Sore this morning but hey it's good for me !!!!! Isn't it???

Yeah, I saw you doing the drills yesterday and they are very good. I have been doing similar stuff in Canada and hope to be doing more soon. Fair play to you doing the plyo's before teaching and training. Keep it up - you're defo on the right path.

Fingers crossed man. Was moving furniture in work today and painting at home tonight and my thighs and..funny enough my abs are burning and that means it's working (they say lol) Have also gotten back into doing pressups which I have always struggled with as years of Shotokan messed up my elbows but they are holding up fine and I'm adding more reps every day. I love summer lol.

Having now done the same work out for three weeks it is almost time to ramp up the intensity but I am on hols for a week from next week so will leave it until I return. Planning on doing a lot of beach running and swimming over there as it will be about 30 degrees at 7am and man will that burn lol

Have a great holiday man - don't be worrying about training over there because it's only a week and you can get stuck back in when you get home. I know how psycho you are. Have a great time - you deserve it because you work hard and train hard. We'll miss ya.

Thanks guys as it happens I need it I have pulled a muscle in lower left abdomen and some tendonitis so I'll leave it to running and swimming to stop me from getting out of shape (more out of shape that is lol)
