Hope everyone is looking forward to the long weekend and hopefully the weather will be good. Thought I'd let you know what I'm up to. I'm taking part in a 12 hour football marathon on Saturday unfortunately its not to get myself in shape for a late call up by Trap but it is for a good cause. Its a fundraiser for Debra Ireland. DEBRA Ireland www.debraireland.org/ is a charity which provides support services for those living with the genetic skin condition, epidermolysis bullosa (EB). This is a very distressing and painful condition which causes the skin layers and internal body linings to blister and wound at the slightest touch. My neice was born with this last year and the charity have been very good to her and her parents so we are taking part in the event. Thanks to everyone that has given their support. I'd say I wont be able to walk on Monday but not rest for the wicked as its straight into Fighting Fitness Week and Rob probably has 2 hours of squats or something equally nasty planned for day 1 of fighting fitness. I'll let you know how it went next week.

a very worth while cause. I saw that charity on the Late Late show and the brave little girl who has that condition. People in this game like to think they are tough but i wonder if we would be able to handle it half as well as that little girl. Fair play Stephen and best wishes with it. See you Monday

Jeepers Stephen you will be wrecked come Monday. No bother to ya though. Fair play for doing this though and I did see the little girl on the Late Late Show a few months back and brought me to tears to see it. Amazing charity and best of luck the weekend. Come on and get your money in. Sponsor a little as a little goes a long way. See ya Monday for Fighting Fitness

The event went really well on Saturday in the Postal Club in Tallaght with 12 teams playing 5 a side games for 20 min games in league and cup formats pretty much continuously. Teams had 7 players but our team struggled with 4 players out injured after 5/6 games so we have to draft in some support from others. Nevertheless we hung on till the end of the day although after a few hours anyone looking in would be forgiven for thinking it was an over 75's league.
The event was really well organised with lots of refreshments throughout the day not many breaks though. Yesterday was pure torture and today was worse but I don't have much to complain about when you see what the kids have to put up with their whole life.
Thank you again everyone for your contributions. I'm sure given the fact that the charity helps my neice Charley that I'll be doing more mad stuff in the future.
