Guess I have been lazy with my blog but here goes. Most of my own training outside of involvement with the team and teaching has involved kettlebell exercises for strength and conditioning coupled with frequent circuit training with the emphasis on boxing methods so happy to say I'm satisfied with my fitness. What have I got planned? I do plan to switch some of my time to more flexibility work probably on Fridays before class and saturday mornings possibly with the team. Will keep you posted.

Having spent most of the summer on core and conditioning work I have, because of changed timeptable, switched to focusing on flexibility which was never my strong point. Also planning to up the amount of cardio I'm doing while continuing to work on bodyweight exercises to maintain and improve condition.

your flexibility training has motivated me and I'm going to use that drill you were doing with the med ball and the laminated sheets! I resurrected an old stretching machine from the back of my shed too

Thanks for the feedback Yzier. The truth is that drilling certain exercises in MMA is considered boring but good fighters know they are essential. MOves like armbar from the guard defensive kimuras, Triangle choke and omoplata are not natural movements so they need to be practiced in a way that makes them part of your natural flow and feel. More to follow

Started a new routine today involving weights and bagwork circuits, certainly got me pumped lastnight and pretty sore today. Will report how it goes.

I'm happy I joined forum today. Just its my second time I tried sparring and I really loved it. One conclusion I came yesterday is that - the sparring is not so easy how I thought I must keep training...

Sparring takes time but is worth the effort. Concentrate first on building fitness and technique.

Just something came into my mind after I had a great training today. I included a link of my former sensei who was teaching me Karate Shotokan. I was almost 18th years old when I stopped doing that. www.soto.vti.pl/?page=news&group=1He has 6 dan at present. Pawel
