As Kiefer said, there is plenty of time to get ready for the final competition of 2008. The best of the best championships will take place on Saturday 29th November 2008 at the Roadstone Sports & Social club on the Naas road. Team M.A.I. will be there in force and the lads & ladies of D.15 & D.7 are currently in training for this points and continuous competition. It would be great if we also had a few of our members who have never competed before give it a go. You would be fully supported on the day and it's a great opportunity to gain valuable competitive experience. Simply let any of the instructors know you may be interested and they'll help you get ready for it.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Robert

Training for this competition is going well and everyone is looking good. There are still 2 & half weeks to go so keep up the good training. Make sure that you concentrate on points more so than continuous because this competition always has a lot more people in the points sections. Here is the website for the competition: www.bestofthebest-ireland.com/

As Robert said, training's going well! There's 2 and a half weeks left, so make sure you get the hard work done now, you don't want to leave it all last minute, cos that's when you get injured or burn out. Remember, you shouldn't do fitness or sparring in the last 3 days (at least) before a competition, so make sure you all get down to sparring classes now to get the practice in!

Oh its getting so close to the weekend everyone !!!! I can just see the panic on some faces now !!!!! Don't forget there is a competition on this Saturday 29th November in Roadstone Sports and Social Club on the Naas Road , this starts early in the morning at 9am so make sure your early and no excuses for turning up late and missing your section . Hope everyone is going to give it a go as its the last one for 2008 . You will have plenty of time for being lazy after this , so get in on saturday give it your best and I will be there , with all the instructors cheering you all on doing what I do best . Looking forward to seeing you all there . If anyone is stuck for lifts , there will be plenty of people meeting in Dublin 7 EARLY so any queries give us a call 016776592 . Guess I will see you all Saturday . Plus most of all best of luck everybody .

Pre-competition advice. Anybody competing in this tournament should now be starting to wind down their intensity in training. Certainly by mid-week you should start concentrating on timing drills rather than power or technical development. If you want any advice on timing drills drop me a line or chat to me before or after class. Good luck everyone

The very best of luck to everyone competing on Saturday. I haven't missed a competition that the club has entered before but I have a good excuse because I'm training hard in Canada and will return on Monday. I expect to hear a lot of good reports when I get back (who's going to do up a report and take some pictures & video for us?). Everyone has been training very hard and there have been big improvements in everyone since the start of the year. It's not about winning or losing yet, as long as you see small improvements in yourself (physically & mentally) each time you compete, it won't be long until you are winning all of the time. I hope there are a few new people going to give it a go and I hope there will be some MAI supporters. Cheer for each other as much as you can and the very best of luck to everyone.

Thanks Rob for the encouragement.
I'd like to wish everyone the best of luck too (even though I'll be there to do it in person). Remember to give it your best shot, and cheer as hard as you can- sometimes that's what gives someone the extra motivation in the ring. MAI is one big team, so we should act like it on the day.
Good luck to everyone, and remember that win lose or draw, as long as you're improving you're on the right track.

go out and do what you do best (no colm not eat pizza) Ah, my REAL talent... You think I'm good at this kickboxing business? You haven't seen me with a Medium Mizzonis hot and spicy! Speaking of- I can't wait for tomorrow night after the comp. I've been dieting hard for this, but once I'm done tomorrow, all bets are off!
