A lot of people ask me why I don't enter the UFC. Here is my answer: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pElmOHb4cukMany thanks to MAI & the instructors for helping with my training and this video. You might also notice that I have a new fighting name....well, actually, it's not new at all. It's what I've always been called but now I think it's time to retire 'The Executioner' to make way for 'The Man'! Thanks to everyone for your support. I'll keep you updated.

This video is a class!
Good luck Rob in your application to be on the next version of the Ultimate Fighter. There's no better man for the job! I know that given the chance you'd do very very well on the show, and in the UFC, simply because of your professional attitude to training, dedication and experience as a top level competitor.
And if anyone from the UFC selection committee is watching, Robert is 'The Man' for the job. Couldn't resist being cheezey.

Great news Robert I'll keep the fingers crossed for you (as opposed to you crossing them in some mad submission)

Thank you to everyone for their support, both here on the forum and at the Dojos. I only sent the official application off last Friday so they will have probably just received it now and I don't think they fully decide until the end of the month. It's funny because within 24 hours of the clip being on the website I was being asked if I got in yet!
I am delighted to announce that I have been invited to Canada to spar with Georges St-Pierre as he is in training and getting ready to defend his UFC welterweight title in the biggest fight of his career against B.J. Penn in January. While I'm there I will also get to train with several other top champions. This is a big opportunity for me and for MAI and I leave at the end of next week. I will of course keep you all posted.
Thanks again for all the support.

This is fantastic news. It's a great chance to learn, and gain experience with a top training partner. Rob, you'll get loads out of it too!
Seriously though, our head instructor being asked to train with such a great athlete is testament to the standard held by our club. The best only want to train with the best, and I doubt anyone else in Ireland has been approached by a UFC champ to help him train! I'm not just sucking up to Rob here, but trying to show how we really are a part of one of the best clubs out there.

Think sparring with one of the best athletes in the world will give you more cards Robert Hope he destroys BJ Penn..I think BJ is an exceptional martial artist but the image he is giving in public is quite disgusting... at least for my taste Antonio
