We had a chat in D15 the other day about vegan sandwich fillings - as you do. Rather than share with just the resident herbivores, I thought we could all share healthy food ideas.
So far, the best I (actually my wife) could come up with is a wrap filled with cous-cous, broccoli, toasted almonds and spinach. I also like beetroot, rocket and feta as a salad or sandwich filling.
Recently, I purchased a cheapo version of the NutriBullet from Argos. Great for all types of smoothies and juices. My regular morning smoothie is banana, kefir*, protein powder, berries and honey.
*Kefir is fermented milk popular in middle Asia and the former Soviet Union. It's made from a unique live "grain" of bacteria and other micro-organisms. This converts lactose in milk to lactic acid, making the nutrients in milk more digestible and promoting a healthy internal flora.
I'm sure that other members will have some great suggestions for healthy eating too...
