Hi everyone. It's coming up to that time when I start concentrating on my own training again (summer, beach etc.) So here's the question I am compiling loads of drills that combine fitness and flexibilty improvement but at the same time improve technique for example the wall drills i do for machine gun kicks etc. So over to you guys.

Circuits are pretty cool mixing different cardio exersises with technical ones can be cool they can be fun but seriously hard aswell(louise) ! ;Dmy favorite training for getting fit and learning new stuff is still sparring, because no matter who you spar you always learn something new, its tough physically and mentally!is always enjoyable and definetly makes you better..there should be way more people sparring..its very enjoyable and a great buzz.. over and out peops

Yeah sparring is great but it's tough to correct technique during sparring what i meant was something like those taekwondo kicking drills and others like the one armed boxing drills that you can practice with or without a partner.

heh you guys , this is my first time using the forum how "kool"!!!! anyways about drills i defo think sparring is great fitness but to train with someone all the time its difficult !!! you cant beat a good hard circuit doing loads of upper body burn outs and then loads of leg burn outs ( i like the way kiefy said about my circuit class ) ha ha ha . i do prefer circuits my self i get bored hitting bags so circuits give me a different buzz to train and get lots of cardio done to but you would have to mix it up every week !! over now to some good drills !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drill of the week - stick a weights vest/ankle weights on and do as many burpees as you can!
Ricky hatton has a great drill - jumping over a waist high beam for 3 minute rounds!
or one of the hardest circuits is if you combine weights with cardio. Do a bench press and then skip for 2 minutes, another bench press and bagwork etc. etc. etc.
Happy Training

This week I've been throwing round the grappling bag and it's a great change of pace. Loads to practice too.
Different rounds to practice : takedowns/Clinching with knees/various sprawls/all strikes on the floor/Postion transitions wih strikes/submissions. And to finish you off, pick up the bag high and slam it hard 20 times.
Physically demanding, great for technique, and lots of fun!

Who you quoting there louise? ;D Yeah, Kiefer showed me a kool (see what I did there?) one when I wanted to improve my grappling strength for the superfight at the big event. You pick the bag up at one end and flip it (kind of a squat type position, but it gets your back too), then run to the other end and do the same, then you run to the side of the bag and do 2 foot jumps over and back, and repeat in the opposite direction. It's a whole body burn out, works well. Another MMA ish one is the one where you pick the bag up and do the sweep-with-the-knee type takedown (the one from underhooks), landing on the bag, then get up and do the other side. It improves your confidence for the takedown and gives you a good workout. I'm pretty sure repeating any takedown on the bag like this would work the same. (Might try sacrifice throws... dizzy!) The one Robert had us doing in BBP on Monday was good too-kick set one, then kick set one doing each kick 3 times without putting it on the ground. Same with kick set 2, then kick set 3 in a similar way, except obviously you have to put your foot on the ground for the jumping and jump-spinning kicks. I'm getting tired even writing this...

Did a great partner drill recently. Each partner is on a bag and you call different techniqhes for each other, then you fire off 3 as quick as you can. Works best at fast pace and high intensity. Gets very interesting when it gets into the jumpimg spinning techniques!
