Those who are close to me know that I'm a big baby when it comes to seeing a doctor or dentist but I had to make a trip to my dentist today as I cracked a tooth a couple of days ago - Kiefer reckons it was from sparring him! but the truth is....low and behold......I bit into a toffee! Shock & horror! Rob eats sweets! Anyway, I'm probably the worst patient in the World because I demand to know everything before it's done to me. I hate injections and it was really hard not to punch the poor dentist. I'm not a violent person (outside the ring/cage) but I am trained to strike back when I feel pain! I think he saw me holding myself back and I bet he couldn't wait to get me out of his office! He is a great dentist and very patient and I wouldn't/couldn't go to anyone else - saying that, I did tell him today that I hope I don't see him for another 10 years!

I have to agree with you there Rob, Im not a fan of doctors or dentists myself. Years back I was in a similiar situation, I cracked a tooth eating a double decker bar (it was lovely ha ha). I had told the dentist that I really didn't like dentists and that if he hurt me too much, that there wouldn't be a good outcome. Unfortunately he did something that was very painful and I instinctively hit him. I left there with a temporary dressing and I never went back to get it finished. About 10 years later I decided to get the same tooth finally sorted. This time I did proper research and found a dentist that dealt with people with phobias. Rob I'll give you his number, Ha Ha. This guy was so different, it was like my first day of school. He talked me through everything before he did it making sure I was okay before he went near my teeth. He even demonstrated the hose that sprays water on my hand to proof that it was only water. Then he demonstrated the hose that blows air to show that I'd be pretty safe with it, Ha Ha. He told that I needed to get the tooth pulled. He had to give me 7 times the amount of painkiller injection that is normally used before he pulled it so I wouldn't feel a thing. He asked me to go the waiting room while the injection took effect (I couldn't feel my face for about a day afterwards, ha ha). I used the few minutes to go to the rest room and 2 mins later I heard a franctic dentist, calling my name, he actually thought I had done a runner! When I got back to the chair, even though my fists were clenched in defensive mode, this time the dentist made it through unharmed. I was supposed to make an appointment to get the teeth done on the other side of the mouth but he was on holidays for a while and I haven't made it back yet! Maybe in the next five years I'll make it ;D

Duh Phil ya big sap - different needles! I'd easily get a tattoo over going to the dentist. Plus why the Mauri tat when you're from Clontarf! Now stop trying to hijack my Dentist blog by talking about you and your tattoo!

Something That may help you in future rob would be lots of "CORE" training. Strengthening your "CORE" can ultimatly lead to a strong "CORE" and with that you will be more equipped to handle those needles.
"CORE" training is really important. Hee Hee Hee Hee.
Hope you get the Joke.
