I stuck a 'spoiler' in the heading in case you haven't watched it yet and don't want to know the results.
Kiefer, Terry (Kiefer's bro), Louise & I were at UFC 105 over the weekend and we had a great time. Louise & I got an early cheapo Ryanair flight and after checking in to the nice hotel we immediately went to wish Denis Kang luck. Even though Denis was focusing, he still congratulated me on my last fight. Then we met up with Kiefer & Terry and got hammered drunk! yeah right! We were a right bunch of tee-totallers! The M.E.N. arena was cool and the crowd behaved.
I won't give a blow by blow account of every fight but I can tell you that I was very dissappointed for Denis. I have nothing at all against Michael Bisping and I'd love to meet him but as Denis is a friend and training partner, obviously I was up for him. One of the things I don't always like about mma is some of the opinions that are lashed about. I don't know what was going through Denis's mind but I'll ask him when I see him.
Dan Hardy did well but I can't see him beating GSP. Hopefully I'll be involved in George's training camp as he gets ready for that fight.
Randy is an absolute legend and an inspiration to everyone.
TUF 10 winner Ross Pearson looked very good.
The German fighter Dennis Siver landed a super spinning side kick.
After the show we got lost trying to find a place to eat but we eventually stumbled into a chinese restaurant. When we were seated at out table, guess who we were next too??? George St.-Pierre was seated at the table next to us. He was having dinner with people so I didn't want to disturb him but of course I discretely went over to say hello. He looked at me at first and I don't think he recognised me as I haven't shaved in a few weeks but then he grabbed me and in his thick French accent he said 'Ah! Robert! - what are you doing here?' We chatted a little and it was a pity that each of us didn't know the other was coming to the show because we could have hung out.
I really enjoyed the show and before you ask me if I would have liked to be fighting at it - what do you think?
