Did a week of training last year in our club in D.7. The course consisted of 3 hours training per day for five days in a row. At the time it was the toughest training I have ever done. It hit every muscle in the body and was very draining. After the five days I dropped 6 pounds in weight, was overall a lot fitter than when I started and ready for my next grade. Think it would be a good idea to do offer this week more often througout the year. Possibly in the evening from six to nine for example so it need not interfere with work. The week cost 250.00 which was excellent value for money. (You can sort me for the plug later Rob Ha Ha)

Yeah, I missed the FF week last year, I was gutted. I'd love to take part in another one, challenge myself. The 300 week was also a good idea, at the end of last year. The Fighting Fit week is on again this year starting June 2nd, 10am to 1pm Monday to Friday. It is a difficult time alright, but if you can get the time off it'll be worth it. It is only 1 week in a year. (Say you got the flu-then when you come back in to work you'll have lost weight and it'll look like the truth.) There's loads of other events to train for, like the 2 club comps and MMA Warrior week. here's a list of all the events this year (that have been arranged so far): www.martialartsinc.com/MAI2008EVENTS.pdfMore info on classes: www.martialartsinc.com/classes.phpMy plugs are free

Sounds very very intense, at what level would you need to be to even contemplate trying it?

Hi (tof?)
The thing about intense training and the Fighting Fitness week is that you can train at your own pace. If it is too hard, slow down and if you are super fit - speed up. There will be all levels training with us for the week - The Fighting Fitness week is intended to make you fitter and better at sparring. You will definitely notice a big difference in your fitness in only 5 days! Plus the fact that we are finished at 1pm gives you the rest of the day to recover!
A lot of people feel the need to travel to Thailand etc. to get a good week of training in - you've no need to do that.
We'll get you Fighting Fit in no time.
Make sure that you put in for that time off now.

Cheers Robert. I think Id like to try that tbh. It's something to work towards in terms of even trying to shape up a bit to have a bash at it. In other words its a goal to aim towards...Im away to give it some serious thought...either way Thailand is just to far, and this must be cheaper than a flight to Bangkok What do I do if I want to go ahead with it?

Hey tof,
That's the spirit - a lot of people will be in the same boat as you. Infact, the original poster and several others didn't think they would be able for it last year but they passed with flying colours. We can stick your name down no problem but you'll have to give us your full name. Then you will need to pay a 50 euro deposit as soon as you can to secure your place (full sparring gear will be required). Due to the nature of the course, there are strictly only 20 places available. We should have a poster up for this in the next couple of weeks. I went to the UK last year for 5 days of training. The flights, guesthouse & training fees cost me €1000!
