Since competitions are coming up soon, I am just wondering what people think is the most ''Effective'' points techique is. I love points fighting and always keen on seeing every ones opinion and choices.

Quite an easy one this .... Blitz blitz blitz. Everyone has their own way of setting it up , side kick, axe kick roundhouse but if they don't score it's followed by the blitz. Don't just look at the American model those guys fight on carpet which makes blitzing more difficult. In the U.K. and Europe it's (am I repeating myself?) Blitz

I totally agree, Blitz, properly executed works most of the time. I should know, that backfist stings when you get it right (in the face). I must learn to stop using my head to block those blitzs.......

For me it has to be a big drag up axe kick off the front leg. comes right down over the top, i think its really hard to defend against if done well. you just have to get out of the way of it!

Well I learned at the Irish cup competition that with some referees the best technique is to not wear a Martial Arts Inc uniform! It looks like some points are given just based on that alone!

Nothing new on this one from me but more about the how. To score with blitz you have to make it your own like any technique. Too many Martial Artists spend way too much time building a massive array of moves but spend no time fine tuning them. Just look at any succeesful fighter in any discipline and you will see that they have mastered maybe three or four moves by sweating and bleeding over them. Not ten roundhouse kicks but ten thousand to perfect it not ten blitzes but hundreds a day for weeks on the way up to a tournament. HArd work brings success
