Hi All, I have not been on the forum for a while. A little ms Isabelle has been taking up all my time between bottle and nappies I don't where I get the time to train. By the way Keifer, that was a killer class last Thursday I was still sore on Sunday but the abs are starting to peep out. Anyway I bought a 16KG kettle bell and read up on best exercises and have been using it at home in the garden doing double handed swings, snatches and clean/press. Defintely has added something to my regular weight training. Has anyone tried them and any tips to further get the most out of it? Thanks Phillip

I'm yet to try them out, but Mike Moloney's your man for the exercises. He lives by the yokes these days! Once I finish trainig for the Irish Cup competition I'll be looking for his advice on the odd looking heavy yokes with handles by the weights!

For optimal results take one 16kg with your breakfast and another at lunch .... you don't feel hungry at all! ;D Ha just just messing. Yeah there is some crazy drills you can do with them alight. I find it really helps with improving your explosiveness. Mostly been using them to work shoulders, abs and legs. Some good grappling drills you can do with Kb's as well. A few drills worth trying are the common ones. Clean, Snatch, Windmill, Squats. (youtube is your best best to get a demo) A few of the variations Ive been trying are: Renegade rows. Great for lats. Hold a kb in either hand in a press up position. Pull up one at time past your lats. Turkish get up (Core drill, best look this one up. Hard to explain) Get up sit up. Lying on your back drive the kb to the ceiling and do a sit up. Repeat until dead and finally figure of 8 (also for core ... killer). Squat and pass the kb between your legs in figure of 8 motion. I mean there are loads, those are some I can think of right now. You can be pretty creative with them. Not wanting to Hi-Jack the thread but if anyone has any others maybe the could add to it? No Colm you cant play headers with them ;D I dont see the KB as a replacement to doing free weights. Quite the opposite. It complements it very well. I honestly dont think you can beat using the barbell for back and chest, yet to find a Kb drill that comes close to be honest.
