We are running a skipathon week in both studios on the 14th of july for one week only. Everyone is encouraged to give it a go. It will be conduted in as many group and private classes as we can that week. The best results get posted. The way it works: SKIP for 5mins and count your number of successful jumps(someone can help you count too), Then try again later in the week to beat your score. Any questions...?? ask any of our instructors or check the notice board...Get on your toes and get skipping ;D

I'm really looking forward to this myself. The last time we gave it a go it was just the instructors. The record was around 800! Hopefully there won't be too much cheating! Either way, it's a great way to increase fitness and I've a few pounds to lose now that I'm back from cheese burger land! Best of all, Skipathon Week is FREE!

Skipathon week is here. Starts today and ends Sunday. See if you can get to give the 5 minute round a couple of goes to beat your score. And NO CHEATING Best of luck. The best scores will be posted up.

Had my first attempt at it yesterday and skipping for 5 mins is a lot harder than it seems trying to keep count and the arms definitely felt it-hopefully get another go at lunchtime.

I must say I can't wait to give this a bash myself. hope everyone gives it a go, after all, it's free! what's the worst that could happen? I'm gonna make a conservative estimate that I'll get about a billion skips. But I'm no good at estimating.

Thanks Robert for the report and well done to everyone. Before I started kickboxing I had never skipped and remember the early days getting tangled up trying to step over the rope etc but got there in the end. Since the skipathon rather than just skipping for 2 mins because its part of the warm up I'm setting my own targets to try to improve.
Any ideas on the next challenge? I definitely wouldn't want press ups

Well done Stephen - you did very well at the Skipathon.
As for ideas for the next challenge - Keith had the best idea:
See how many sugar donuts you can eat without licking your lips!
Pete - you could always add the burpees in between! Would get very messy.
