Been a while since I have been on this , but tonight I held a Kid's grade in D15. It is a year since the last and Kid's will come and go but most have been consistent with training. For the past 4 months these little guy's have been training and learning off what they need to know and by golly they pulled it off tonight. Speaking from the heart, it was a very emotional evening. I watched these little ones grow up and become so confident in themselves and I have helped them along the way. It's my job to get the best out of them and I feel they done themselves proud tonight and most of all I'm very proud too. One little girl Kayleigh who is only training with me a few weeks, she was a little young but achieved her white belt tonight, that was the best part of the night, just seeing her face. We had 14 Kid's grade for yellow belt which I will post up all the names tomorrow. They were extremely nervous and yet answered questions and new everything inside out. You have to remember some of these Kid's are 5yrs old up to 9 yrs old, so it's a big test and a hard one. The pressure was on as parents were allowed watch but they amazed me at how confident they were. Fair play to Becky Greene for coming in from the teen's class who got her yellow belt, she was a little young for the adults grade but the next one she will be fine to jump in with the adults. We had 2 Kid's going for orange belt, Cian Farrelly and Grace Brennen. Grace had been missing for 9 weeks and came back with a bang, she trained every hour she could and did amazing. Cian too trained hard and did his poor Mam's head in with all the preperations for it.
Well done all you little girls and boys from D15 you did yourselves so proud tonight. I'm very proud to have been their grading instructor and can't describe how happy I am tonight. You know I have been down exactly the same route as all these Kid's tonight, so I know exactly how they feel and it ain't easy,I once was going for yellow belt too. Big big congrats to them all and I will post up the names tomorrow.
Big shout out to Eddie Lawlor who is also going for his own grade on Saturday. 3rd Brown. He even missed getting his last tip tonight just to help me out. Also big thank you to Aaron Farrelly who has come a long way, he helped me hold pad's and also has put alot into teaching the Kid's with me on a Wednesday. He has been helping me out since the summer, so thank you Aaron and Eddie.
