I've just booked my flights and I'm heading to Canada this coming Sunday to train for two weeks. I was there 4 weeks a go for 4 weeks and mainly came back to cover Kiefer's hols as well as to see Louise and my dogs (of course!).
As I've written in my other thread - I've 2 fights coming up. 2 weeks apart. An opponent has already pulled out of a fight with me at BAMMA but I've been 100% guaranteed that I will be on that card.
Tom 'Kong' Watson v's Alex Reid is the main fight on that card and Tom is currently training in Montreal which is one of the main reasons I'm heading over. I think we'll be staying together.
I am still looking for sponsors and it would be great to get an Irish company onboard. There would be plenty of coverage as I go along this path.
So, here we go again - I'll keep you all posted of course.

Hola.
You certainly do get around Robert.
You travel across the globe more than CARMEN SANDIEGO!!!
;D
Am in TOTAL AWE, in regards to all the physical and mental effort - that goes into preparation for fights.
Saw Robert training in the D7 dojo a few weeks back.
Feel sorry for the peeps holding those pads!!
Got tired just looking at all the effort required.
Oh yes Robert. If you get close enough to Alex Reid - two words.
RIGHT... HOOK!!
And don't forget to say to him:
"Tell your friends about ME"!!
*** Have FUN in Montreal. GOOD LUCK with all the training. And the 2 x fights ahead.***
Look forward to the war stories.
Peace out: Darin

Thanks all - it's hard to believe I've only been back for 4 weeks and I'm off again. I head early in the morning. I thought I'd have everything done and that I could just chill today but no, it's a race to get everything done. Ah well, at least I'm not bored! See you all in a few weeks. Enjoy your training. I'll blog when I can.

Yo all,
My internet access here is a bit limited and my laptop has decided to go on a major go slow but I've managed to get on this to keep you updated.
Day 1 was yesterday and I did 3 session. Straight into small gloves sparring - there were a couple of new faces training there (Miguel Torres - wec former champion & Rory Mac Donald - youngest UFC fighter). Then I had my first ever Bikram Yoga session - interesting and boy do you sweat. After that we went to the Gracie Barra Bjj club and I got a few rounds in. It was all go, non-stop. No time to get over any jet lag.
I don't want to go into the training too much on here because I'm training with Tom Watson at every session and he has a very high profile coming up against Alex Reid. Oh yeah, I think my Bamma opponent is about to be announced. Apparently it's confirmed and I'm just waiting on the name.
Today was boxing training and after that Tom, Denis Kang and I did some wrestling and drills. I think we are doing some running later.
It's all go this trip and I don't have much time because it's nearly 3 sessions every day plus I'm trying to fit into Tom's schedule. It's great experience though.
I hope everyone at home is good and I hope everyone's training is going well.

so we did sprints on Tuesday evening. Yesterday was another full day. Wrestling then Bikram Yoga and then Bjj. The yoga seriously makes you sweat and dehydrates you - the grappling after that is tough because forearms and muscles seize up. Today Tom and I did various drills with each other to prepare for our fights. An easy day today because it's pro sparring in the morning and there's no point in being burnt out for that! I think we're also going to be doing grappling later in the day - gi and no gi. A Gi is a uniform by the way so quit the sniggering now! It's been all go since I got here. Weird living with others - it's like the Ultimate Fighter house ha ha As always, I miss home and I miss MAI. No other major news - body is fit and healthy
