I hate the long flights to get here and I arrived in the evening 20 hours later! Aaron Riley picked me up at the airport and we are staying at Tom Watsons apartment here (he's at home though). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_RileyStraight to bed and ready for the first day. DAY 1: 9.30am Wrestling Good heavy duty start to my time here. Takedowns and drills against the cage. All full on with full resistance and fitness thrown in. I was happy with my fitness and I am more prepared for the high altitude here. Afterwards I grabbed another fighter for shadow sparring and then grappling. 4pm Gym There's a gym and a pool where we are staying so I got weights done and a bit of cardio. 6.30pm Bikram Yoga I must have lost quite a few pounds during this session. A good first day and I'm hoping to carry that momentum forward. I know you all want to know what fighters are at the gym so today I saw: Andrei Arlovski, Jon Jones, Travis Browne, Diego Sanchez and Brian Stann. I'm sure there will be more fighters there on some of the other days. I'll keep you posted.

Right so, DAY 2 started with another 9.30am session. Big gloves (kickboxing) sparring. We started with light sparring and kicking drills and I got to partner with Andrei Arlovski and Keith Jardine amongst others. Then we did 4 rounds of competitive sparring. I got to spar with Travis Browne (ufc heavyweight) and the funny thing was that he threw the same superman punch at me that he knocked out Stefan Struve with recently. So, I gave him one of my own ha ha. There are a few other UFC fighters training here that I don't really know too. After that we had to finish with cardio and conditioning! Running, clinching, abs, plank, pressups etc. At the end, Diego Sanchez completed the training with a prayer!
The second session today was JuJitsu. Oh yeah, Greg Jackson took us for both sessions today. We did technique and then I got in 3 rounds of grappling. I got to do one round with Brian Stann (ufc middleweight) which was cool. The level of training & sparring partners here for me is excellent, the high altitude really gets you fit and the trainers are some of the best in the World. I'm making the most of it and getting stuck in.
I have made a new bff here and I'll see if I can get his picture tomorrow.

DAY 3: 9.30am wrestling session and a lot of takedown grappling at the end. I picked myself a fairly large and muscley fella as a partner. Gluten for punishment but I did good. 4pm I got my own stuff done at the gym. It's a secret in case my opponent is reading this The gym was quiet at that time so got to chat a bit with Greg Jackson, Jon Jones and Travis Browne etc. I'm not completely sure what's in store tomorrow but I start off with grappling at 11am. I hope things are going well for everyone at home.

as promised, here's a picture of my new best friend. And that person in the background is Andrei Arlovski - his owner. And Andrei's nickname is 'The Pitbull'. Ya see, it all makes sense. He brings 'Maximus' with him to the gym everyday and he just lies there and causes no trouble. My dogs defo wouldn't do that Attachments:

DAY 4: Saturday and still put in 2 good sessions. This isn't being boastful because if I wasn't in training I would have just done 1 easier session. Cardio work first and I could definitely feel the altitude on my lungs. Stuff is harder to do here than at home because ot it - but sure that's one of the reasons I'm here Then Bikram Yoga again. I still don't know if I like it but at least it's warm ha ha You do lose a lot of water weight which can be good as long as you don't lash a fish and curried chip into yourself upon completion. I didn't There's loads of fast food I could try here if I wasn't being good but I can't complain as I really did make the most of the food on my honeymoon! I've already lost a good few pounds this week so I'm bang on target. Now I've earned my rest day. Hope you all had a good weekend.

DAY 5: - Rest Day I saw an advert for a Gun & Blade show and Aaron didn't take much persuading to go. It was definitely interesting. Put it this way, I don't think they'll be having one in the RDS anytime soon. I'll stick up a couple of pics from it. Then we got a healthy lunch at this all you could eat salad place! After that I got my tan on at the pool and just took it easy so that I'm good for the new week. Attachments:
